Dry season is likely to prolong in most parts in the country, with rainfall expected in several parts of Highland West of Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Central and Southern Rift Valley and some few parts of Highland East, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD).

Additionally, daytime temperatures are likely to range between 30 degrees Celsius over most parts of the country, with an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius over the northern parts of the country and the coast at night.

In their report, KMD reveals that occasional cold and cloudy conditions, at times accompanied by light rains, are expected over the Highlands East of the Rift Valley as well as over some parts of the South-eastern lowlands, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.

Also ,the Highland west of the Rift Valley ,the Lake Basin and the Central and South Rift Valley are likely to be generally sunny in the morning with few rains occasionally while several places to experience night showers, KMD says.

North-Western parts are expected to be sunny during the day and a few rains occurring over few places.

On the Highland East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi county, intermittent cloudiness with light rains in the mornings, and afternoon showers with cloudy nights are expected.

Moreover, in the south-eastern lowland days are expected to be sunny with some light afternoon showers over Mt.Kilimanjaro and its environs and cloudy nights.

Additionally, at the Coast, days are expected to be generally sunny but with some morning and early afternoon showers occurring over few places, with cloudy nights as well.

There is an increase in daytime temperatures comparison between the previous review (15-21 august 2022) to the current review period (22-28 august 2022) over some stations including Kitale, Kisumu and Mombasa and decreased over others like Dagoretti, Voi and Lodwar .Night time minimum temperatures also increased over some stations like Embu, Kabarak and Laikipia and decreased over Mandera, Mtwapa and Thika among other stations.
