The Kenyan National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) has appointed Prof. Walter O. Oyawa as its new Director General.
Taking over from Dr. Moses Rugutt, whose term came to an end, he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the affairs of the commission. The appointment is effective as of 1st May, 2020 and will last for five years and is renewable for one further term.
According to the Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Peter Migun Ogada, NACOSTI is very fortunate to have someone of Prof. Oyawa’s caliber and experience take up this leading position.
“This is a critical moment and we will benefit immensely from
renewed leadership to successfully implement our strategy and take advantage of
the opportunities within the Science, Technology and Innovation ecosystem,” he
said.
