Most parts of Kenya are expected to continue receiving rainfall with isolated storms likely to occur in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Southeastern lowlands, the Coast and Northeastern Kenya.
According to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) 14th-20th November, prediction, occasional morning rains are expected over few places with afternoon showers and thunderstorms likely to occur over several places during the first half of the forecast period reducing to few places thereafter. Night showers are expected over few places, in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley.
KMD also says that in Turkana and Samburu Counties, occasional morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are expected over few places.
Morning rains are likely to occur over few places. Afternoon and night showers are expected over several places during the first half of the forecast period reducing the coverage to few places thereafter in The Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County).
In Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties, morning rains as well as afternoon showers are expected over several places during the first half of the forecast period reducing to cover few places thereafter. Night showers are likely to occur over few places.
Moreover, morning rains are likely to occur in few places. Afternoon and night showers are expected over few places occasionally spreading to several places in The South-eastern lowlands.
At the Coast, morning, afternoon and night showers are expected over few places. The afternoon showers may occasionally spread to several places.
Comparing the 30 October to 5 November 2023 and the 6 to 12 November 2023 periods, it is noted that day-time (maximum) temperatures increased over most stations though some, like Makindu, Narok and Kabete recorded decreases. Night-time (minimum) temperatures increased over some stations including Nyahururu, Kabarak and Kericho and decreased over others like Embu, Garissa and Nyeri.
