Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country with isolated storms likely to occur in some areas including the Highlands East of the Rift Valley and North-eastern Kenya.
This is according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) 24th -30th October weekly prediction.
KMD says mornings are likely to be generally sunny though occasional rains may occur over few places. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are also likely to occur in some places occasionally spreading to several others. Night showers are expected over few places in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley.
In Turkana and Samburu Counties, occasional morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are expected over few places.
Also, in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County), morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers are expected over few places occasionally spreading to several places.
Morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers are expected over few places occasionally spreading to several places, in Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties.
Moreover, occasional morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers are expected over a few places in the South-eastern lowlands.
At the Coast, morning, early afternoon and night showers are expected over few places occasionally spreading to several places.
Comparing the 9 to 15 October 2023 and the 16 to 22 October 2023 periods, it is noted that day-time (maximum) temperatures decreased over much of the country with only Lamu, Malindi and Msabaha recording slight increases. Night-time (minimum) temperatures increased over most stations though a few like Lodwar, Mandera and Suba recorded decreases.
