The second edition of the MOSIP Create initiative has successfully concluded, spotlighting innovative, market-ready solutions that leverage digital identity to improve access, inclusion, and empowerment.

The 2026 edition focused on four critical themes: service access, Electronic Know Your Customer(eKYC) for inclusive identity verification, digital identity for financial inclusion, and credential facilitation for empowerment.

These themes reflect the growing recognition that digital identity is not just about identification, but about enabling citizens to participate fully in economic, social, and government systems.

“This year, 75 ideas and more than 25 completed solutions were submitted, highlighting a vibrant ecosystem of innovators across Africa and beyond. From these, 15 finalists were rigorously evaluated by MOSIP’s adjudication committee,” said Prof. S. Rajagopalan, MOSIP President.

Ultimately, eight winners emerged, representing a diverse set of use cases across healthcare, education, financial services, and government service delivery.

VSOneWorld and Asthra Health Tech were recognized for solutions that ensure continuity of healthcare services. Their platforms demonstrate how digital identity can be used to maintain patient records, streamline access to health services, and improve overall health outcomes, particularly in regions where medical records are fragmented or difficult to access.

Ooru Digital won twice, reflecting its innovative approach to fast issuance of ISO-compliant mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs) and the transformation of legacy documents into verifiable credentials (VCs). These solutions help governments modernize their identification infrastructure while providing citizens with convenient, secure, and globally recognized credentials.

Educerts was recognized for its work in financial aid distribution, showing how digital credentials can be linked directly to services and funding, ensuring support reaches those who need it most efficiently and transparently.

Similarly, ECS impressed the adjudication committee with its solution for educational credentials, enabling secure verification of academic qualifications in both digital and verifiable formats, which has implications for both employment and further education opportunities.

Xnterprise Consultancy Services was awarded for its innovative platform that connects government systems, allowing citizens to receive digitally signed documents directly to a digital wallet, streamlining bureaucratic processes and reducing inefficiencies.

Finally, Tech5 was recognized for its OmniTrust platform, which powers Ethiopia’s FaydaPass, a national digital ID solution that enhances accessibility, verification, and service delivery for citizens across the country.

“We are honored to receive this recognition. Digital identity is transforming how governments and citizens interact, and with CIVILITY SecureDocs, we are proud to harness its power to create secure, trusted, and seamless digital services for everyone,” said Sandeep Thoppil, CEO AND the founder of Xnterprise Consultancy Services.

The winners of MOSIP Create 2026 demonstrate the transformative potential of digital identity beyond simple registration. They highlight how secure, inclusive, and citizen-centric digital ID solutions can improve healthcare, education, financial inclusion, and government service delivery.

Besides the winning solutions, the event showcased innovative technologies from several other companies such as Kaizen Secure Voiz (KSV), which offers a voice biometric authentication platform that eliminates the need for passwords or PINs, allowing a person’s voice to serve as their identity.

Simprints, a UK-based nonprofit that builds biometric identification solutions aimed at increasing transparency and effectiveness in global development, ensuring that resources such as vaccines and public services reach the intended recipients, as well as Identy, which provides contactless fingerprint and face biometrics with liveness detection, enabling large-scale biometric verification and deduplication.

“Our technology supports biometric capture using standard smartphones, processes identity documents, issues digital identities to individuals lacking formal identification, and facilitates large-scale verification,” said Antony Vendhan, Identy co-founder.

This innovative yet simplified approach allows our clients to reach underserved communities by providing individuals with multimodal access to secure their digital identities and explore new economic opportunities.”

According to Vendhan, his company is expanding to Africa to ensure that they offer African countries software solutions that can minimize reliance on specialized biometric hardware. This will allow governments to access underserved communities
