Average rainfall is expected over most parts of the country in the next five days with only North-western, North-eastern and South-Eastern regions likely to be generally dry, according to Kenya Meteorological Department(KMD) weekly weather forecast.
The organization notes that most parts of the Lake Victoria basin, highlands West of the Rift Valley and Central and South Rift Valley are likely to experience showers and thunderstorms in the morning with sunny intervals in the afternoon and partly cloudy at night.
Moreover, maximum and minimum temperatures is these areas is expected to range between 27-29 and 10 -12 degrees Celsius respectively.
However, Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo, Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties are expected to be generally dry with sunny intervals and occasional rainfall over few places. The maximum temperature in these regions is expected to range between 35-37 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature ranging between 12 to 14 degrees Celsius.
Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties are likely to have morning showers with sunny intervals in the afternoon. The region is expected to be partly cloudy in the night with minimum temperatures of expected and night and maximum temperatures of at night.
Further, KMD warns that strong southerly winds with speeds exceeding 12.9m/s is likely to occur over some parts of the coast.
