Rainfall is expected over several parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Central and South Rift Valley as well as over a few areas in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley and Northwestern Kenya according to the Kenya Meteorological Department(KMD).

KMD states that isolated storms and possible flooding may occur over some parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and North-western Kenya. Also, average daytime (maximum) temperatures are likely not to exceed 30 degrees Celsius over most parts of the country while average nighttime (minimum) temperatures are likely to be higher than 25 degrees Celsius in some parts of Northeastern and North-western Kenya.

Moreover, occasional cold and cloudy conditions, at times accompanied by light rains are expected over the Highlands East of the Rift Valley as well as over some parts of the South-eastern lowlands, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and the Central and South Rift Valley.

The organization says that morning rains are expected over few places of the the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Central and South Rift Valley while afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over several places with occasional night showers expected over few places occasionally spreading to several places.

Furthermore, in North-western Kenya morning rains, afternoon showers and thunderstorms as well as night showers are likely to occur over few places, occasionally spreading to several places, during the first half of the forecast period.

Elsewhere in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County Intermittent cloudiness at times accompanied by light rains is expected in the morning and afternoon showers are likely to occur over few places. Nights are expected to be generally partly cloudy though showers may occur over few places.

In addition, days in North-eastern Kenya are expected to be generally sunny and nights partly cloudy. However, morning rains are likely to occur over a few places in Marsabit County during the first half of the forecast period and in the South-eastern lowlands, intermittent cloudiness is expected in the morning giving way to sunny intervals and nights are expected to be partly cloudy while in the Coast, days are expected to be generally sunny and nights partly cloudy.

Following the rainfall review by KMD, rainfall continued to be recorded in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley and some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley. There was an increase in rainfall amounts over some parts of the North Rift Valley while the Coast recorded a decrease.
