The African Scientific Research and Innovation Council (ASRIC) is pleased to share the following current opportunities in the areas of Artificial Intelligence capacity development and scientific research engagement.
- Call for Participation: AI Compute Faculty Development Initiative (2nd Cohort– 2026)
Following the successful implementation of the 1st Cohort, ASRIC, in collaboration with the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI) and Peking University, invites applications for the AI Compute Faculty Development Initiative (2nd Cohort – 2026).
The programme aims to strengthen AI teaching, research, and innovation across Africa by empowering university lecturers with advanced knowledge in AI systems, computing infrastructure, curriculum development, and emerging technologies.
For this cohort, 15 university lecturers from eligible African countries will be selected to participate in the programme.

- Call for Papers: 9th ASRIC Scientific Conference
ASRIC is also pleased to invite researchers, scientists, innovators, and stakeholders to submit papers for the 9th ASRIC Scientific Conference.
The conference provides a platform for advancing scientific dialogue, research collaboration, and innovation across Africa. Selected papers will have the opportunity to be published in the ASRIC Journal.
